LAKEWOOD, OH – Top-seeded Wooster (13-0) survived a scare from Kent (6-7), earning a 5-4 North Coast High School Hockey League playoff semifinal victory at Serpentini Arena/Winterhurst on Saturday.
The Cyclones, down to 10 active players, made a game of it keeping things tied 3-3 heading into the final period.
Oilers defenseman Ashton Fultz (1 goal, 2 assists) made his lone score with 6:08 left to play and assisted on the game’s go-ahead goal by Brandon Dreher with 3:23 to play.
Johnnie Murphy led Kent with two goals, both on power plays in the first and third periods.
Wooster advances to play 8-5 Harbor Creek High School (Pa.) in the National Division Championship game on Sunday (2/20/21) at noon.
