Warriors erupt with seven run 6th
ORWELL – Down their only senior, the young Grand Valley Mustangs held Edgewood to a modest 5-0 lead before the Warrior offense exploded for a seven-run 6th inning on Friday. Final score 12-0.
The Warriors playing in their second game of the day after a two-hour layover, came to life after being held scoreless in the fifth.
Two doubles, combined with six singles and two more walks would be the final stake and shortening the game by an inning.
Lu Paolillo was 4-for-5 with three RBI, also earning the win on the mound by tossing a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and a walk. Avery Vencill was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Carly Kray added to her big day at the bottom of the order, with two more hits and two RBI. Faith Vencill, also 2-for-4, scored twice.
