Sheppard 3-for-3, 3 runs, 3 RBI, 3 SB
SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP – Sometimes a whittle is more than enough. Ask the Geneva Eagles, who exploded for 14-runs in the second inning and scattered the rest to beat Lakeside, 21-1, on Monday.
Geneva’s outburst in the second was fueled by six singles, a double, fielders choice and timely hit batter.
Eagles junior Addie Sheppard was 3-for-3 with a trio of runs, RBI and steals to lead the attack. Sophomore Claire Cafaro clubbed three hits while driving in a game-high five RBI. Fellow sophomore Caidyn Siegel drove in three runs to pair with 10 strikeouts on the mound picking up the victory.
Lakeside senior Jada Lavender was 3-for-3 at the plate, including a single in the bottom of the 5th scoring Kailoni Figueroa, ensuring the Dragons would not be shut out.
